Mrs. Mohamadi, Corneal Transplant on June 28, 2024

On June 28, 2024, MOHAN Foundation's Anudaan - 'Making Transplants Affordable' team received an email from Niramaya Charitable Trust (Ahooja Eye and Dental institute), Gurugram, Haryana requesting financial aid for Mrs. Mohamadi’s corneal transplant.

Mrs. Mohamadi, 62 belongs to Bharatpur, Rajasthan. Coming from a humble background, her husband worked as a farmer to make ends meet.

Mrs. Mohamadi's eye complications began in May 2024, when she visited the hospital with an eye injury; a few tests later, it was determined that she had an eye infection. She was given medication, which only provided temporary relief. She was then, subsequently advised to undergo left-eye optical penetrating keratoplasty.

The family subsequently notified the Ahooja team of their financial challenges, and clinicians at Ahooja Hospital intimated them about the MOHAN Foundation's Anudaan initiative. The Anudaan team contributed Rs. 20,000 towards the transplant which was successfully performed on June 28, 2024.
