Mr. Bhawar Singh, Corneal Transplant on September 14, 2024

On August 15, 2024, MOHAN Foundation's 'Anudaan - Making Transplants Affordable' team received an email from SwaNetra Eye Hospital, Jaipur requesting financial aid for Mr. Bhawar Singh, hailing from Ajmer, Rajasthan. He was diagnosed with Spheroidal Degeneration, Corneal scar and required an immediate corneal transplant.

Mr. Bhawar Singh, 56 comes from a modest family. He used to work as a daily wage labourer but was forced to quit owing to an eye-sight ailment. His wife works as a house help and earns a paltry Rs. 7,000 a month.

Bhawar initially noticed visual problems ten years ago, when his eyes began to fill with fluid. He was eventually diagnosed with glaucoma, which caused damage to both of his corneas. He was prescribed medications and eye drops to maintain his vision. Doctors now urge a corneal transplant to restore his vision. After hearing about their financial difficulties, the physicians at SwaNetra Hospital informed them about the support offered by the MOHAN Foundation's Anudaan program. The Anudaan team contributed Rs. 20,000 towards the transplant which was successfully performed on September 14, 2024.

“Thank you for this generous gift. It has made a world of difference in my sight and now I will be able to resume my work. MOHAN Foundation’s generous contribution has had a great impact on my life. “ -Mr. Bhawar Singh
