Master Rameswar Balu Sangale, Kidney Transplant on April 05, 2023
On April 5, 2023, MOHAN Foundation's Anudaan- "Making Transplants Affordable" team received an email from Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children, Mumbai, Maharashtra, requesting financial aid for liver transplant of Master Rameswar Balu Sangale, suffering with chronic kidney disease.
Master Rameswar Balu Sangale, age 16 years, hails from Tamaswadi, a town in Nashik district of Maharashtra. He belongs to a poor family consisting of four family members. His father is a farmer. With the insufficient family income, it was difficult for them to pay huge cost of Rameswar's kidney transplant, which was Rs 6.50 lakhs.
Rameswar's health was deteriorating day by day. He was taken to B.J. Wadia hospital where the family received the shocking news that he was suffering from a chronic kidney disease. The doctors informed the family that the patient needed an immediate kidney transplant to survive. Rameswar's mother was the perfect match for her son and that she would be able to save her son's life by donating him one kidney. But the biggest challenge for the family was to arrange the huge amount to pay for the transplant.
After discussing about the family's poor economic situation, the doctors at Bai Jerbai Wadia hospital informed them about MOHAN Foundation's Anudaan. This information gave them a new hope. With support from MOHAN Foundation, few other NGOs and hospital's concession on transplant cost, Master Rameswar successfully underwent a kidney transplant on 11-04-2023. MOHAN Foundation's Anudaan sanctioned Rs. 1 lakh for his kidney transplant.
Both son and mother are recovering well. Rameswar is very happy to receive a second chance to live. He is aspiring to be a teacher in future.
"I want to thank MOHAN Foundation's Anudaan team for saving my beloved son's life with their financial support. It is an incredible feeling whenever I see my child smiling and out of immense pain now" .' - Mrs. Smita Sangale, Mother.
