On June 12, 2023, MOHAN Foundation’s Anudaan- ‘Making Transplants Affordable’ team received an email from SwaNetra Eye Hospital, Jaipur, Rajasthan requesting financial aid for Mrs. Anjum Bano’s corneal transplant.
Mrs. Anjum Bano, age 37 belongs to Jaipur, Rajasthan. Her husband is working in a private firm earning a meagre income.
Mrs. Anjum Bano’s eye complications started since few years. She suffered from left eye pain, irritation and cloudy vision. She had been suffering from a corneal scar in left eye. Her condition resulted in sight loss and affected her daily functioning enormously. After getting medication for some months, she was taken to SwaNetra eye hospital for further treatment where a corneal transplant was recommended. The family informed SwaNetra team that they had spent all the money they had and could not afford to pay for the transplant. SwaNetra team approached Anudaan team for financial aid for supporting Mrs. Anjum Bano’s corneal transplant. Anudaan team contributed Rs. 20,000 towards the transplant. She successfully underwent Keratoplasty left eye surgery on July 01, 2023.
