Rudra was the light of his parents’ lives. Their joy knew no bounds when he was born. But just a few months later, that joy slowly began to fade as Rudra started falling sick again and again. His eyes turned yellow, and though he was initially treated for jaundice, his condition worsened, leaving his parents terrified and helpless.
Desperate for answers, they took him to Gleneagles Hospital in Mumbai. After a series of tests, their worst fears came true, Rudra was diagnosed with Cryptogenic Cirrhosis, a severe and life-threatening liver disease.
“I never thought fate could be so cruel. Every day felt like a battle for my son,”– Mr. Rajput Mehulbhai, father.
A small ray of hope appeared when Rudra’s father was found to be a suitable liver donor. But that hope was overshadowed by a harsh reality: the transplant cost was Rs. 16.5 lakhs, far beyond what the family could ever afford. As a driver in a college supporting a modest household in Vadodara, Rudra’s father barely managed their daily needs, let alone such an enormous medical expense.
In this moment of despair, compassion came to their rescue. The dedicated team at Gleneagles Hospital helped raise funds for the transplant, and their appeal touched many hearts. MOHAN Foundation’s Anudaan initiative also extended its support, sanctioning Rs. 2 lakhs towards the transplant cost.
“Seeing our son healthy again feels like a miracle. After all the suffering he endured, your kindness brought him back to life. We will forever remain grateful to the MOHAN Foundation and everyone who supported us. May God bless this noble work.” Mr. Rajput Mehulbhai, father.
