Baby Madiha Fatima

Where it Began

Baby Madiha Fatima was born to her parents after seven years of marriage through IVF treatment. Her arrival filled the family with immense joy. However, their happiness was short-lived when Madiha’s father’s health deteriorated, leaving him paralyzed. With the family’s breadwinner incapacitated, relatives stepped in to support them financially. To add to their hardships, little Madiha’s health also began to decline.

When Madiha was just two months old, her mother noticed her baby’s skin turning yellow. She was immediately taken to AIIMS Hospital, Nagpur, where she was diagnosed with jaundice. Despite receiving medications, Madiha’s condition worsened.
She was then referred to Gleneagles Hospital, Mumbai, where further tests confirmed that she was suffering from Neonatal Cholestasis Biliary Atresia. Doctors advised an urgent liver transplant as the only life-saving treatment. Without hesitation, Madiha’s mother stepped forward to donate a part of her liver.

For a paralyzed father and a homemaker mother, arranging Rs. 16.5 lakhs for the surgery seemed impossible. The family battled despair, fearing they might lose their little one to a disease they could not afford to fight.

But hope arrived through kindness and compassion. The dedicated team at Gleneagles Hospital, Mumbai, helped arrange funds for the transplant, and their plea touched many hearts. MOHAN Foundation’s Anudaan initiative also extended support, sanctioning Rs. 2.5 lakhs towards the transplant cost.

On July 6, 2025, Baby Madiha underwent a successful liver transplant, giving her a second chance at life. Now one year old, she is steadily on the road to recovery.

“Every heartbeat of my child is a reminder of the generosity and support we received from MOHAN Foundation. Thank you for giving her the gift of life.”- Ms. Akeela Bano, Madiha’s Mother.
